can editor show non-printable characters?
 

just wondering if this is possible, running 7.1.1.0 (rev 18f7c8f3b915) on MacOS.

Yes, if you turn on Show White Space in the high-level config menu in the top right or in Editor > Show White Space and Show EOL preferences (the config menu turns both on/off). Also can do it for individual files from the Editor tab in File Properties, accessed by right-clicking on a file or editor.
