Search fails to step to Previous or Next

Using the search tool, Wing finds one occurrence of the search string, but will not move onto the next in either direction. I know there are more to be found, but I am having to use a separate editor to find them.

What am I doing wrong?

What Wing version is it and is this the Search tool or Search in Files or toolbar Search or keyboard-driven mini-search?

Version = 6.0.5-1 (rev f63b60c5c0dd), and this is using the Search Tool. To be precise, using Previous and Next selects one up and one down in a sequence, but no further in either direction.

Obviously it should work (and does for me here, and for the unit tests).  Can you please submit a bug report from the Help menu and include the error log where prompted so we can see if there's an internal failure?  Also, if there is a file I can try that replicates this and it's something you can send us, please email it to support@wingware.com.  Thanks!

Have you checked the 'Case Sensitive' or 'Whole Words' options? Are you doing text, wildcard, or regex searching?

Aarrgg. Flushed with embarrassment I have to admit that the search works now. It really did fail at work (laptop in docking station), but at home with the laptop on its own it is fine. I will try to track down the root cause and get back to you. Ball in my court....weeks later... The problem has recurred. I have no idea what causes this, but today at work and at home I have been unable to search more than one entry in either direction. Can you suggest how I can help to isolate this problem?

No problem!  It may well be specific to search mode (regex, wildcard, regular, case sensitive, etc) combined with the particular nature of the text being searched (e.g. encoding issue or something like that).
